Job Description
The primary responsibility of an electrical design engineer is to design electrical panels based on project specifications, customer requirements, and relevant electrical codes and standards. This involves selecting appropriate components such as circuit breakers, relays, switches, meters, and wiring, and arranging them within the panel to ensure proper functionality and safety.
Electrical design engineers create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts using computer-aided design (CAD) software or specialized electrical design tools. These diagrams provide a visual representation of the electrical connections and components within the panel.
Electrical design engineers calculate electrical loads and requirements for the panel based on factors such as voltage, current, power consumption, and anticipated operating conditions. This ensures that the panel is properly sized and configured to meet the needs of the application.
