Job Description
You are responsible for creating and writing CNC programs using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software based on engineering drawings, CAD (Computer-Aided Design) models, and specifications. This involves translating design requirements into precise instructions for the CNC machine to follow.
You select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and tool holders based on machining requirements, material properties, and part geometry. You consider factors such as tool life, cutting speed, feed rates, and surface finish to optimize machining performance.
You set up CNC or VMC machines for production runs, including loading workpieces, securing fixtures, and adjusting machine settings. You ensure that machines are calibrated and aligned properly to achieve accurate and consistent machining results.
