Qualification – Diploma / B.Sc. (Chemistry) / B.Tech (Chemical Engineering)

Experience – Min. 3+ years of experience in Alumina Refinery / Hydrometallurgy / Chemical Process Plants.

Job Responsibilities
Process Exposure Required
* Bauxite digestion
* Clarification & mud settling
* Precipitation & classification
* Calcination / hydrate handling
* Utilities & material handling (desirable)
Shift Operations Management
* Responsible for safe and efficient operation of Alumina process units during
an 8-hour shift.
* Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process
parameters.
Safety & Statutory Compliance
* Ensure strict compliance with process safety, HIRA, SOPs, and PPE usage.
* Identify unsafe conditions/acts and take immediate corrective actions.
* Maintain zero accident / zero incident performance as a key KPI.
Production & Process Control
* Achieve assigned shift-wise production and hydrate/calcined alumina
targets.
* Monitor critical parameters such as temperature, pressure, concentration,
and flow rates.
* Analyze deviations and take corrective actions to minimize losses.
Quality Control
* Ensure product quality meets defined Alumina specifications.
* Monitor quality parameters and coordinate with QA/QC in case of
deviations.
* Take prompt actions to restore product quality and prevent recurrence.
Shift Handover & Takeover
* Conduct clear and detailed handover/takeover with incoming and outgoing
shifts.
* Communicate process status, abnormalities, maintenance activities, and
safety issues.
Maintenance Coordination & LOTO
* Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance
activities.
* Ensure proper Lockout–Tagout (LOTO) procedures before maintenance jobs.
Equipment & Process Troubleshooting
* Handle unexpected process upsets, equipment failures, or instrumentation
issues.
* Escalate issues to concerned departments in a timely manner to reduce
downtime.
Continuous Improvement & Kaizen
* Identify opportunities for process optimization, energy savings, and yield
improvement.
* Participate in Kaizen, modification, and reliability improvement initiatives
